The BD Harvest Hub is an initiative of the Biodynamic Agricultural Association of Southern Africa (BDAASA). The BD Harvest Hub supports the Demeter PGS farms who have achieved or are striving to achieve Demeter certification, by distributing their produce and educating the consumer.

Demeter is the brand for certified products from biodynamic farming. Demeter is a worldwide movement of biodynamic agriculture, a holistic, ecological and ethical approach.

Demeter PGS is a participatory certification system where groups of farms work together to get to Demeter standards and beyond. It serves to promote responsible, biodynamic farming and food production to the consumer.

About Biodynamic farming:

Biodynamic farming is a holistic, sustainable agricultural system that views the farm as a self-contained, living organism. It emphasises ecological balance, soil health, and the interconnectedness of all farm elements, including plants, animals, and humans. Biodynamic farming goes beyond organic practices by incorporating spiritual and cosmic perspectives, using lunar and planetary cycles and specific plant and mineral preparations to enhance soil fertility and plant growth.
