Hermanus River Farm, near Arabella Country Estate

Hermanus River Farm has been in the Rosochacki family since 1967. For most of its history in the family farming ventures have been centred around the herd of grass fed beef. This herd of 30 cows (mixed black angus, limousine, and sussex) and Boris the Limousine bull and all their offspring are managed by Petrus Afrieka, who has diligently cared for the beasts for well over a decade.

Other ventures include honey, weddings, air bnb, forestry, and bicycle track development. Many other ideas are in the pipeline, including a greater variety of livestock for best regenerative farming practices. The farm boasts lagoon front territory, pastures, forests, fynbos, and one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the region. We are also dedicated to the seemingly insurmountable task of ridding the farm of the worst invasive plant species, and restoring

Hermanus River Farm neighbours Arabella Country Estate between Botrivier and Kleinmond. We farm many berries including a wide selection varieties of blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, youngberries and gooseberries. Also in the pipeline of production are gojiberries, elderberries, loganberries, mulberries, and more. Hermanus River Farm is also home to a wholesale berry nursery under the name Rosoberry. Farming practices at Hermanus River Farm have evolved over the decades with a new focus on sustainable regenerative farming, free of harmful inputs. All pastures are organically grown, where no inorganic pest and disease control is applied. The berries are undergoing a transition to organic fertilization which will be complete by 2024. The feeding program is currently mixed organic and inorganic. Plants are fed with liquid feed through drippers and some overhead irrigation.
